We stock a comprehensive range of supplements which have been hand picked by Dr Hopwood focusing on high quality and value for money. 

The shop is open during Dr Hopwoods' clinic days which are Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, from  9 am until 5 pm.

Getting the right supplements is a bit of a mine field with so many supplement companies all claiming to offer the best for less. This is where the Clinic Shop excels as Dr Hopwood and his staff have done the homework for you and can provide top quality products at competitive prices. 

One example of this is Folic acid - we have all heard of this essential B Vitamin - B9 - but actually Folic acid is a synthetic Pharmaceutical product and many people (Up to 40% in some studies) have a gene mutation that significantly reduces their ability to convert synthetic Folic Acid into it's bioactive form Methyl Folate. Folic acid is added to our food e.g. bread. One study found that un-metabolized folic acid was detected in 78% of fasting blood samples from healthy participants who were not even taking a folic acid supplement. This issue can be absolutely crucial with pregnant mothers who need B9 - Methyl Folate - for the healthy growth of their baby. If they have the gene mutation but take the wrong form i.e. Folic Acid -  they may lack optimal amounts of this essential vitamin which is key for healthy foetal development.

Magnesium is another good example - a national health food chain sells magnesium in the Magnesium Oxide form - This is only 15% absorbable and 85% works purely as a laxative which does not sufficiently support healthy physiological function. In fact a blend of three types of Magnesium is regarded as the best approach and having a product which delivers this in two capsules (One twice daily) is optimal.
